What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about areas of public policy that build better equity between all person in a community. Too often, I have seen people of my community and other minority communities not have a real chance at a better life. I want policy that bridges that divide.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

FDR is probably the closest person to a political hero I have. His policies changed the course of this country forever.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

-Boldness -Integrity -Collaborative Spirit

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

In addition to the qualities I previously mentioned, I bring along an understanding that every member of our community needs to be represented. I also bring a public policy background

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To put the interests of the people you represent first.

What legacy would you like to leave?

That of a person that always was helpful and kind.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

The first that I remember is Y2K...It was uneventful to say the least.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Soccer coach, about 2 years.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?

Christmas, I like the good cheer and warmth that people act with around that time.

What is your favorite book? Why?

Gone with the wind. The transformation Scarlett undertakes is something I admire.

What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?

-Understanding of policy -Willingness to work in a team environment

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the local government?

I have a public policy background and understand how to involve all stakeholders in the process. That and I have worked my entire career to help people that are marginalized.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?

For a city council race, previous government experience can help. However, I don't see it as absolutely necessary for this specific office.
