Osceola County Nonpartisan Commission Question (November 2012)
An Osceola County Nonpartisan Commission Question' was on the November 6, 2012 ballot in Osceola County, where it was defeated.
This measure sought to make it that the County Commission races would be non partisan. This measure was brought to the ballot through a successful petition drive. Petitioners turned in 18,771 and the county Election Supervisor determined through a random sampling that the needed 14,702 valid signatures were there. One commissioners spoke out against the proposal, Michael Harford, stating that with non partisan elections the races would be determined during the Primary election which always has significantly lower voter turnout.[1]
