Owen H. Johnson
Owen H. Johnson was a Republican member of the New York State Senate, representing District 4 from 1973 to 2013. He served as assistant minority leader for policy and administration from 2009 to 2010 and vice president pro tempore of the New York State Senate prior to that. On December 24, 2014, Johnson passed away from natural causes at the age of 85.[1]
Biography
Johnson earned his B.A. in history/political science from Hofstra College in 1956. He served in the United States Marine Corps.[2]

Johnson was unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. He defeated Maeghan Lollo (D) in the general election.[3] In addition to his slot on the Republican Party ticket, Johnson was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and Working Families Party.
