She is the eldest daughter of Frances C. Parker from Lexington Kentucky and William H. Berliner from Fort Worth, Texas a 20+ year career military servicemen stationed in (SAC) Strategic Air Command in Hickam, Hawaii, Fuchu, Japan and Kadena, Okinawa. Traveling as a military family we immediately became the the face of America. We learned the importance of adapting to new environments, an appreciation for cultural diversity, language affinity, food delight, bonding, unique etiquette, making friends fast and a smile.

Family values that were instilled in me as a child ,always try to do the best of your ability. From whom much is given much is expected. The only reason why you are blessed is to bless others.

I remember on Sunday at my Great Aunt home who resided at 2711 Georgia Avenue N.W. Washington ,DC at the side gate of a famous (HBCU) Howard University half a dozen men and women gather at her home. They were all dressed the their best Sunday go to meeting clothes. The women wore crinoline dress, while gloves, fresh out of the kitchen pressed hair. The men wore white starched shirts, dress pants, spit shined shoes and quovadis hair cuts. They told us that they were going to the "Reflecting Pool" to meet a minister from Atlanta, Georgia by the name of Martin Luther King. They wanted to make history by protesting for better jobs, access to education, buses, & hotels. That left an indelible memory that has lasted a life time.
  • The Economy, Education and the Environment .Covid was a wake up call for Hawaii whether we want to continue as tourism being our main economic engine or whether we need to diversify our economy. With regard to the Economy:
  • With regard to Education :Resolving our teacher shortage connect with the 101 HBCU(historical black colleges and universities) which have over 75 teacher education schools producing over 4000 graduates. Recruit from the military spouse. Have Hawaii colleges and universities register with the teacher practicum program of DODEA.
  • With regard to the Environment: Use oil and pollution eating plants now.
Shirley Chisolm, Barbara Jordan, Condoleezza Rice
The Bible for moral code to live life. The Autobiography of Malcom X the transformation of a civil rights advocate. The Travels of Marco Polo fearless in following his road. Genji Monogatari A women's reflection of Japanese aristocracy
To reflect the needs, want and desires of their constituent.
I gave my all, did my best

Brought someone some happiness

Left Hawaii a little better
My first historical event was watching my parents and several other gather at my Great Aunt Ethel B. Love home as they prepared to go the the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to meet a Minister from Atlanta Georgia by the name of Martin Luther King, Jr.
I'm a military brat and the post that my Dad was assigned to I register and a Military Base Babysitter. We were required to complete a course in first aide, CPR and emergency intervene class. Monday till Friday we could accept assignment until 10:00pm but on the weekend it could be until 12:00pm.
There are several The Bible, The Autobiography of Malcom X, The Travels of Marco Polo, Genji Monogatari .There are several reasons. The moral code of conduct. The transformation of civil right advocate. One who fearlessly followed his road. A women's depiction of ancient Japanese aristocracy .
If so many people are searching for happiness why haven't they found it?
We always must remember that this is greater than ourselves. That our constituents are our bottom line. So to that end we are obliged to get over self and carry on the business of the state. To communicate their wishes. Resolve our conflicts. Establish pathways of understanding .
Recently I heard a joke that made me laugh. I don't know whether I would call it my favorite but it did make me reflect. It was a joke allegedly given to a son by his father. Here it goes.

There was once a bird who forgot to fly south for the winter. Slowly this bird's wings began to freeze and he fell down to the earth. A cow came along and at the bird's exact spot he pooped upon him. The warmth of which melted his frozen wings. He was so happy he began to sing. A cat came along heard him and ate him. The moral to this story is this. Every one that poops on you is not always your enemy. Everyone that gets you out of poop is not always your friend. And if you are in deep poop keep your mouth shut. Amazing!!!!
