Pacific Grove Measure A was on the ballot as a referral in Pacific Grove on April 12, 2022. It was approved.

A “yes” vote supported authorizing an additional sales tax of 0.5% generating an estimated $1.1 million per year, thereby increasing the total sales tax rate in Pacific Grove from 8.75% to 9.25%.

A “no” vote opposed authorizing an additional sales tax of 0.5% generating an estimated $1.1 million per year, thereby leaving the existing total sales tax rate in Pacific Grove at 8.75%.

Pacific Grove voters approved a similar measure—Measure L—designed to enact an additional 0.5% sales tax. That measure, however, was ruled defective by a superior court ruling because the legal text referenced the wrong city tax ordinance.[1][2]

A simple majority was required for the approval of Measure A.
