A Palm Bay City Council Compensation Amendment question was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Brevard County, which is in Florida, where it was defeated.

If approved, this question would have amended Section 3.03 of the City Charter to limit the salaries of City Council members.[1]

Text of measure

Language on the ballot:

Shall Section 3.03 of the City Charter be revised to establish the compensation for the

City Council by ordinance, not to exceed salaries as portrayed by the Florida League of Municipalities for cities of comparable size and form of government, instead of the current method which allows Council to establish its salary by ordinance by no more than 5% annually? No increase in salary shall become effective until after the next regular city election.[2][3]
