Efforts in Crossville, Tennessee, to recall City Councilmembers Pamala Harris and Danny Wyatt from their positions were launched in March 2016. Organizers submitted recall petitions to the Cumberland County Election Commission for approval to circulate on March 21, 2016. Recall supporters
Howard Burnette initiated the recall process against Harris and Wyatt over their efforts to oust City Manager David Rutherford. The effort ultimately failed after public hearings revealed support for Rutherford. Burnette also cited their votes against the Horizon Initiative, a comprehensive plan created by local leaders and approved by the city council 3-2 on March 10, 2016.[1]

County elections officials had to approve the initial recall petition before signatures were collected against Harris and Wyatt. The Crossville Chronicle reported that at least 2,135 signatures were needed to be submitted to place a recall on the ballot.
