Pamela Washington appointed to Anchorage District Court
August 9, 2010
Anchorage, Alaska: Pamela S. Washington was appointed to the Anchorage District Court in Alaska's Third District on August 9, 2010. She was formerly a domestic violence prosecutor for the City of Anchorage and has practiced almost exclusively before the Anchorage District Court for the past 6 years.
Gov. Parnell chose Washington, who is African-American, for the position. This marks the first time since he took office one year ago that he has appointed a woman or a minority to a judgeship.[1]
