Voter and candidate information

The Papillion-La Vista school board consists of six at-large members elected to four-year terms. A primary election was not necessary since the number of candidates who filed to run in the election was not more than double the number of seats up for election. The general election was held on November 8, 2016. The board members elect a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer during an organizational meeting in January.[2]

To be elected to the board, candidates must reside in the boundaries of the school district and be a registered voter.[2][3]

Candidates had until March 1, 2016, to file their nomination papers. Incumbents had to file by February 16, 2016.[4]
