The Judicial Update

February 10, 2012

St. Charles, Illinois: Bill Parkhurst has been selected to serve as an associate judge of Illinois's 16th Judicial Circuit Court, effective Feb. 21. He was chosen from out of 41 other candidates elected by the circuit judges. "I’ve dreamed about this since before law school," he stated.[1] He will replace Judge Bruce William Lester, whose annual contract as a recall judge was not renewed.

Parkhurst is a graduate of Alma College (undergraduate degree) and Valparaiso University (law degree). He began his career as a law clerk for a federal magistrate in Michigan. He moved to Illinois in 1991 and started a solo practice in Geneva. He currently practices law with the firm of Johnson Westra Broeker Whittaker and Newitt. He has also been recognized for his pro bono work.[2]
