Pat Gillis was recalled from the Oregon House of Representatives in March 1985.[1] Gillis faced a recall effort due to falsely claiming in the state's voter pamphlet that he possessed a master's degree from Lewis & Clark College.[2][3] In May 1985, Gillis was acquitted of charges of lying about his educational background in the state's voter pamphlet.[4]
