Patrice Douglas (Oklahoma)
Patrice Douglas is a former commissioner on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Douglas was first appointed to the commission on September 8, 2011, by Gov. Mary Fallin and formally took office on October 10, 2011. Douglas replaced Jeff Cloud on the commission, whose term was not scheduled to end until 2014.[1]
Douglas was a 2014 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 5th Congressional District of Oklahoma.[2] Douglas and Steve Russell were the highest vote recipients in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014.[3] Russell then defeated Douglas in the August 26, 2014, Republican runoff.[4]
Biography
Douglas was elected mayor of Edmound, Oklahoma in April 2009. In May 2011, she was appointed to the Oklahoma Bankers Association Board of Directors. Prior to her entry into public service, she practice law for 13 years and then joined her father's company, ACP Sheet Metal. Following this, she served as the president of SpritBank and executive vice president of First Fidelity Bank.[5]

Douglas was first appointed to the commission on September 8, 2011, by Gov. Mary Fallin and formally took office on October 10, 2011. Douglas replaced Jeff Cloud on the commission, whose term was not scheduled to end until 2014. Cloud resigned from the commission in order to "pursue opportunities in the private sector."[1]

Douglas ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Oklahoma's 5th District.[6] Douglas and Steve Russell were the highest vote recipients in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014. They defeated Harvey Sparks, state Rep. Mike Turner, state Sen. Clark Jolley and Shane Jett.[3] Russell then defeated Douglas in the August 26, 2014, Republican runoff.[4]

Douglas was a 2012 Republican candidate for Corporation Commissioner. She was unopposed in the June 26th primary election and was unopposed in the November 6th general election.[10]
