Patricia A. McGivern
Patricia A. McGivern is a magistrate judge of the First District of Iowa. She was appointed to this position in 2007 to serve Black Hawk County.
Education
McGivern received her bachelor's degree in 1974 from Iowa State University and her law degree in 1977 from the University of Iowa.[1]
Career
McGivern then began her legal career as a screening attorney for the Iowa Supreme Court. She worked in this position until 1978, when she became an assistant Black hawk County attorney. From 1979 to 1995, she practiced with the law firm of Clark, Butler, Walsh and McGivern and, from 1995 until her judicial appointment in 2007, she was an Assistant Attorney General.[1]
