What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Reducing healthcare costs and increase access in rurals. Improve public education through smarter funding. Introduce Legislation that increases energy renewables and protect our environment.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Healthcare. Education. Protecting our planet from climate change.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

Those who have access to their wisdom and empathy and use these gifts to make people's lives better.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Integrity. Empathy. Ability to see a wide angle picture.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Critical thinker. Intense listener. Empathetic. Problem solver.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Guarantee lives will be better off than before.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I hope people will come to understand leadership is not about being the best. Leadership is about making everyone else better. Elected officials have a responsibility to lift their communities up.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

NO

What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?

Improve our public educational system. Nevada ranks at the bottom in the U.S.

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

Yes. Legislating is no different than any other community or workplace. It's all about relationships. Most everyone tends to be more willing to compromise with someone they like or trust.

Both sitting legislators and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?

Lynn, who did everything right in her life - long term employee with good benefits, a decent home and savings, raised fine children. Retired late... took the COBRA insurance available to her... then one month before her COBRA was due to expire, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She said to me, "I'm prepared to die. I won't bankrupt my family to pay for treatments." So it is in America - choose... either your money or your life. I don't accept this. Neither does most Americans. So I fight.
