Patricia Aguilar was a member of the Chula Vista City Council in California, holding Seat 2. She was first elected to the position in 2010. The Chula Vista City Council appointed her as deputy mayor in 2014.[1] Aguilar did not file to run for re-election in 2018.

The city of Chula Vista, California held city council elections on June 3, 2014. Incumbent Patricia Aguilar faced Hector Gastelum, David Gonzalez, Jr., Willie Harris, Dan Smith and Michael Spethman in the general election. Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters - Aguilar and Smith - met in a runoff election on November 4, 2014. Aguilar defeated Smith in the runoff.[2][3][4][5]
