Patricia E. Gallaher was a judge for the Monroe County Family Court in New York. She served in this position from 2007 to 2016.[1] She also served as an Acting Justice of the Monroe County Supreme Court (7th Judicial District).[2]

Education

Gallaher received her B.A. degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1973 and her J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1976.[1]

Career

Prior to receiving her law degree, Gallaher worked as a congressional intern for Hon. John Culver in 1972. She also worked from 1974 to 1975 as a law clerk for the U.S. Department of the Interior - Indian Civil Rights Task Force and for the John Hay Whitney Foundation Indian Education Project. In 1975 and 1976, she worked as a law clerk for the firm of Cladouhos and Brashares in Washington, D.C. She then worked as a litigation associate of Goldstein, Goldman, Kessler & Underberg until 1980. From 1981 to 1983, she was a law clerk for the 4th Department of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division. She then worked under Hon. Harold Galloway as his principal law clerk and as a matrimonial referee from 1983 to 2000. From 2001 until her judicial election in 2006, she served as a court attorney/law clerk to Hon. Marilyn O'Conner. She joined the Family Court bench in 2007.[1]
