Biography
Patricia Lock Dawson was born in Riverside, California. Lock Dawson earned a B.S. in biology from the University of California at Riverside and an M.S. in wildlife ecology from the University of Washington.[2][3] Lock Dawson's career experience includes working with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and owning PLD Consulting. She oversaw the Santa Ana River Partnership.[3]

2015
Three of the five seats on the Riverside Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 3, 2015. The election was held by district.[4][5] Incumbents Patricia Lock Dawson, Gayle Cloud and Tom Hunt from Trustee Areas 2, 3 and 4, respectively, were up for re-election.[6][7]
In Trustee Area 2, Dawson defeated challenger Sandra Ramirez. Cloud did not file to run for re-election to the Trustee Area 3 seat, leaving it open to a newcomer. Angelov Farooq ran unopposed and won that seat. Hunt defeated challenger Tad Hove in the Trustee Area 4 race.[8][9]

Funding
Dawson reported $32,212.00 in contributions and $17,074.03 in expenditures to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters, which left her campaign with $15,137.97 in the election.[10]
The first campaign finance reporting deadline was September 24, 2015, and the second one was October 22, 2015. If candidates raised or spent more than $1,000 from a single source, including their own funds, between August 5, 2015, and November 2, 2015, they had to file a campaign finance report within 24 hours.[11]
