Patricia Lynn Winfield
Patricia Lynn Winfield was a 2014 candidate for the Ohio Eleventh District Court of Appeals in Ohio. She was removed from the primary ballot after the Lake County Board of Elections ruled that her residency requirement for election to the Ohio Eleventh District Court of Appeals was not fulfilled. On her application to register as a candidate, Winfield had registered an address located in Winfield, Ohio, which would have fulfilled the residency requirement to run for a judgeship in the Eleventh District Court of Appeals. However, Winfield stated that she did not, in fact, live in Winfield, but instead resided in Euclid, Ohio, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals.[1] Under the Ohio Revised Code 2701.04 and the Ohio Constitution Article XV, §4, a judicial candidate must reside in the district to which she or he is seeking election.[2]
Education
Winfield received her undergraduate degree from Lake Erie College in 1981 and her J.D. degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1984.[3]
Career
Winfield maintains her own private practice in Euclid, Ohio.[4]
