Patricia M. Maher
Patricia Maher (Democratic Party) ran for election to the New York State Assembly to represent District 21. She lost in the Democratic primary on June 25, 2024.
Maher also ran for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 4th Congressional District. She did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on June 25, 2024.
Biography
Patricia Maher was born and raised on Long Island in New York. She earned an M.A. in humanities from the Hofstra University, a LL.M. in health law & policy from the Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law, and a J.D. from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg School of Law at Touro College. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina.[1] Maher completed her externship with the Long Island criminal division in the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York, Central Islip.[2]
Maher's career experience includes working with the bankruptcy clinic at the Touro Law Center, as a director of development and community education with Nassau and Suffolk Counties in New York, and as a political activist. At the time of the 2024 election, she had been an elected member of the Nassau County Democratic Committee for over 18 years. Maher also has experience as the vice-president of the Baldwin Democratic Club[2][2]
