Patricia Nation is the District 4 incumbent on the Tyler Independent School District board of trustees in Texas. She was first elected to the board on May 10, 2014. Nation was automatically re-elected to another term after the general election on May 6, 2017, was canceled due to lack of opposition.

Nation has a bachelor’s degree in history, a master’s degree in educational administration and a doctorate in educational leadership. She also holds principal and superintendent certifications. She began teaching in Tyler ISD at Hubbard Middle School and taught in Killeen ISD and Van ISD before moving into administration. She has two daughters, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.[1]

Elections

2017

Two of seven seats on the Tyler Independent School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on May 6, 2017. District 2 incumbent Orenthia Mason and District 4 incumbent Patricia Nation ran unopposed in their bids for re-election. Martin Marroquin filed to run for the District 4 seat but withdrew his candidacy on February 24, 2017.[2] Both elections were canceled due to a lack of opposition and both candidates were automatically re-elected to another term.[3]

Results

Due to lack of opposition the election was canceled, and Nation was automatically re-elected.
