Patrick Cordell

Patrick Cordell is a judge of the San Juan County Magistrate Court in New Mexico. He was appointed by Republican Governor Susana Martinez (R) on July 14, 2015, to succeed Judge James G. Mosberger.[1] Cordell won election in the general election on November 8, 2016.[2]

Judges of the New Mexico Magistrate Courts are each elected to four-year terms.[4] The elections for this court are partisan contested elections. To serve on this court, a judge must be a qualified elector of the district and have a high school diploma or equivalent. In districts with a population greater than 200,000 people, a judge must also be licensed to practice law in New Mexico.[5]
