Patrick Doguet
Patrick Doguet (Republican Party) ran for election for Governor of Louisiana. Doguet was disqualified from the primary scheduled on October 12, 2019.
A judge ruled that Doguet be disqualified, as he did not comply with a Louisiana law that required him to have filed state and federal taxes within each of the past 5 years.[1]

Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.
