Patrick comes from very humble beginnings. He is the oldest one of five children. Growing up poor was a way of life in his early years. Patrick's family also delt with being homeless for a time. This was in the City of Canyon Country, where Patrick (in his younger years) and his family spent some time in a campground in Bouquet Canyon. Things never came easy, however Patrick and his siblings had each other. Patrick can relate to the homeless issue that plagues so many people today.

Coming from a multicultural family was enriching. Patrick experienced a Mexican and Irish up bringing which is part of who he is. "We were poor growing up but grew up with a respect of right and wrong." Years later, Patrick graduated from Sylmar High School as a student athlete. Worked as a lifeguard for the City of LA and the County of LA. This was the start of a lifetime of service to the community. Eventually, Patrick found his way by the Grace of God to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. This is where he started a 24-year career as a Deputy Sheriff! The challenges and the experiences he faced as a Deputy Sheriff has been priceless!

He developed great listening qualities, especially when people are at their lowest. He was able to help families reunite and kept communities safe while they slept safe in their beds at night. Then fast forward to where Patrick met and married an amazing woman, his wife Nuné Gipson! Patrick is also a father to three amazing children.
  • Public Safety - as a 24 year law enforcement officer I've seen the downfall of public safety. Things are completely upside down! A criminal who hurts and steals from you is now considered a victim while the one who has been the actual victim is forgotten! With mass defunding meaning less police officers to come save you when you desperately need help the most! This means more thefts and assaults on you and your family! Everyone else is in danger of becoming a victim of a serious or deadly crime.
  • Parental Rights - has been systematically attacked by extreme leftist socialist who have dividing our State and Country! Traditional common sense values have been replaced by an agenda that takes children away from their parents simply for not affirming a child's sexual preference! Parents are the first line of defense when it comes to any child's upbringing!
  • Homelessness - when I hear Corrupted elected officials say Homelessness is a housing issue, I automatically think did the builder or contracted company pay that official off? I've personally seen and experienced a majority of homeless in LA County while on patrol for the LA County Sheriff’s Dept. purposely made a decision to remain homeless! Why? The majority of homeless individuals are in fact addicted to hard drugs like methamphetamine and deadly Fentanyl!! The majority of homeless are hopelessly addicted to hard drugs! They will not leave the area where they are getting their next fix from. Their addiction is all that matters and getting their next high! Add this with a mental health issue and you have the perfect storm!
Public Safety has definitely been a personal passion of mine for most of my life! I've been involved in keeping the public safe with one of my first jobs as a lifeguard at the age of 17. I've also dedicated 24 years of my life as a law enforcement officer where I made a difference in people's lives keeping them safe from a variety of crime including violent crimes which is on the rise! Law Enforcement Officers have a tougher job than ever in our current environment where elected officials will protect criminal behavior! A majority of elected officials just recently blocked a bill named SB 14. This bill presented to the State Legislature increased the penalty of Child Sex Trafficking to a "Violent Crime!" There was a huge push back and the 42 Democrat led quickly changed their votes to pass SB14! Those 42 Democrats need to be held accountable to all their constituents! Public safety bleeds right into drug addicted homeless. My younger cousin was found dead of a Fentanyl Overdose right on the streets of Hollywood in a tent! So yes I take it very personal that one of my very own family members lost to us forever! I know for a fact that there are other families who have lost ones to Fentanyl! We can't let our family members die in our city streets! Elected officials have to make the hard decision and rescue them from the very streets that is killing them! Effective Drug and Mental Health facilities are needed to give those trapped on the streets a chance to be free of drugs!
First and foremost I look up to God, whom I believe has done a great miracle and bringing me to this time in my life where I can make positive achievements for my fellow humans.

Martin Luther King Jr. Is definitely someone I do look up to! He didn't waiver in his belief for his principles!

He exuded peace and Love even in the face of certain death.
A character which is greatly important is to actively listen.
Qualities which I possess are Humbleness, Attentiveness, Transparency, Integrity, Honesty, and a believer in the US Constitution.
Legacy of Restoration of Public Safety and the Returning of businesses and people who have fled California to other states.
I remember the day Elvis Presley died on August 16th, 1977. I was five years old and it was my 5th birthday!
First job was making sandwiches!
I worked at that job for maybe 4 to 5 months and then I went on to become a lifeguard.
Dune, from Frank Herbert.
WOW! What a loaded question! Too many to choose from.
Last song was Billy Idol's, Eyes without a fac."
Life in general has many ups and downs. As a Californian I've struggled with living with California Wild Fires, increased crime over my lifetime, and higher and higher taxes. It's expensive to live in Los Angeles, and expensive to raise a family.
With greater emphasis on rebuilding our financial infrastructure to make California a more tax friendly state. We can grow our state strong and viable for centuries to come.
Not at all! You have have the drive and the will to do anything that's worth doing.
I'm a dad so I only do Dad jokes!

Campaign website

Gipson's campaign website stated the following:

KEY ISSUES

  • Rising Crime
  • Homelessness
  • Parental Rights
  • Out of control inflation
  • Government Overreach
  • 2nd Amendment Rights
  • Drugs flooding into our country through open borders
  • Child and sex trafficking
  • Mandates that take away our rights to choose
  • Small businesses struggling to survive
  • Corrupted elected officials

HOMELESSNESS

I come from a family that was homeless for a time & as a LEO, I have seen & lived from both sides. I want to take care of our homeless problem by caring for them. I’m going to effectively utilize the resources already in place to care for the lowly. I’ll develop the Foster A Family Program, to get the government, churches, social workers, & law enforcement involved, not to arrest, but to check on the health & safety of those struggling in our communities. Let’s take back our people.

EDUCATION & PARENTAL RIGHTS

California has the lowest education rate of any state in the country. Our children are being given the minimal amount of education, but not succeeding. When you don’t know where you’re coming from, you can’t know where you’re going. Parents should have the right to place their children in educational systems that are actually going to progress their child, not being subject to their School Board. -BILL AB- I want to work on Legislation that not only protects our children’s growth, but also protects the interests & structure of Family. It’s time to take their hands off of our children.

CRIME RATE

As a LEO, I’ve watched the rate of crime increase with very little consequences for the criminals, resulting in our families & communities living in fear. The infrastructure for safety is not there. My focus will be rehabilitation. I want to develop & implement a program that gives individuals convicted of certain crimes to serve their sentences either in prison or by going to school while in prison, significantly cutting their sentence down. Educating minds of their worth to society is how we promote second chances, which ultimately builds upon the beauty of our communities.

2ND AMENDMENT & REFUND THE POLICE

Being able to defend yourself is paramount to the decline of crime. CA has the most stringent gun control laws in the country, that actually protect criminals more than its citizens. Our communities need to know that it’s not “me against you” but to have the ability to develop personal connections with the people. We don’t want citizens to fear the police, we want there to be understanding & education on both sides. Government is not going to do it on its own & we’ve watched that fail. Partnering with the institutions already in the community, like churches, is how we protect our people.

MILITARY

We need to make sure that the healthcare of our military and veterans are priority. They need a better bridge when they’ve completed their service to their country. We need to develop programs of integration, focus more on mental healthcare & stability, so that we can serve them the way they’ve served us. Opening up more funding for our Veterans creates more jobs in the community and keeps our Vets off the streets.

CHILD TRAFFICKING

Child trafficking is the most lucrative business in the entire world, averaging around $150 billion dollars every year. In our own country each year - an estimated 200,000 American children are trafficked into the sex industry. Literature like gender-studies and graphic sexual education at unnecessarily early ages are exactly what grooms our babies for this heinous crime. Protecting our children at all costs starts at home and should never be a teacher’s job to introduce sex to minors in any atmosphere. Not on my watch.

SMALL BUSINESSES

Small Businesses are exactly why the phrase “The American Dream” even exists. When people can build a legacy with the work of their own hands, there is no greater feeling in the world. I should know, because my wife & I have our own small business - a security company. And we care so much about that family - we made sure to keep all of our workers employed during the lockdowns. Your businesses should not have been stolen out from under you, and I will make sure that never happens again.[2]
