Campaign themes
2014
Gehrlein's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]
Education
- Excerpt: "I want to expand school choice responsibly. I want more emphasis placed on the parents role in education other than getting them into school. I would like to see more responsible management of the limited resources available for public education and a review of teacher tenure."
Small Business
- Excerpt: "We need direct assistance to small businesses to get them through this rough economic climate and ensure that they remain in our community for generations to come."
Infrastructure
- Excerpt: "I have seen first-hand the way in which projects funded through the Department of Transportation have doubled in cost with less results. I would propose streamlining the entire delivery system so that funding can be used to actually build more roads and bridges with our limited dollars and not pay for the overhead of a bloated delivery and oversight system."
