Patrick McAnany
Patrick D. McAnany was a judge on the Kansas Court of Appeals. He was appointed to the court by Democratic Governor Kathleen Sebelius and took the bench on February 6, 2004.[1] He was retained by voters in 2006, 2010, and 2014. He retired at the end of his term on January 13, 2019.
Education
McAnany received his B.A. in philosophy from Rockhurst University in 1965. He earned his J.D. in 1968 and his LL.M. in business litigation in 1971 from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law.[1]
Career
McAnany began his legal career with the law firm of Miller & O'Laughlin. He then worked in the office of general counsel for Mobil Oil Corporation. In 1973, he joined the firm McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips and practiced general civil and business litigation. McAnany was appointed to the Johnson County District Court in 1995. He served two terms as chief judge on this court before his appointment to the Kansas Court of Appeals.[1]
