Elections for the West Virginia State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 13, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 25, 2014. Incumbent Samuel Cann, Sr. was defeated by Mike Romano in the Democratic primary, while Mike L. Queen was unopposed in the Republican primary. Romano defeated Queen and Patrick Smith (L) in the general election.[1][2][3]
