2016

Thompson's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[9]

Education as a keystone investment

  • Excerpt: "I believe the budget for Education is our most valuable line item. Investments in our children & in re-training adults yield the highest results for repairing our communities & our economy."

Greater healthcare access and affordability

  • Excerpt: "We have great healthcare professionals but not enough people can afford access to them & not enough is done to prevent serious illness."

Return to ethical and effective government

  • Excerpt: "We need to impose term limits on our public servants, stop legislators from using government to advance their own gains & vote out those that are primarily interested in their own ambitions and advancement."

Improve infrastructure options

  • Excerpt: "Return to development guidelines that respect citizen property values and reflect our desire to create a place where people want to live and work."

Career growth and continuity

  • Excerpt: "Promote economic patriotism & fair trade- buying more locally, from locally-owned businesses & more American-made. Trading with low wage countries who disregard environmental or ethical standards is not free trade."
