I am Patrick Wallace, the Libertarian Party Candidate for Alabama State Board of Education – District 8. My greatest passion is family. I am a youth soccer coach who has had contact with 100’s of local youth and heard their stories. I am a product of the public education system and I believe that success is founded in the continuous pursuit of knowledge. Most importantly, I am concerned that our children are missing out on educational opportunities due to the current state of our system and its forced compliance to government mandated standards.
  • We must create an educational system that allows parents reclaim the right to facilitate the education of their children.
  • The educational system must be one where our teachers and schools are not forced to follow government mandated guidelines that do not serve their students best interests.
  • The education of our children should be removed from the selfish hands of politicians who use it in their pursuit of funding.
As a Libertarian, I seek a world of liberty: a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and are not forced to sacrifice their values for the benefit of others.

I believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free and prosperous world, that force and fraud must be banished from human relationships, and that only through freedom can peace and prosperity be realized.

I believe education should be removed from overreaching governmental regulations and that the education of children is a parental responsibility. We should restore authority to parents to determine the education of their children, without interference from government
