|- Strengthening Community Trust and Transparency:
My foremost priority is to rebuild and strengthen the trust between law enforcement and the community.
This involves ensuring transparency in all department operations, fostering open lines of communication, and being present and accessible in neighborhoods.
By actively engaging with residents, listening to their concerns, and keeping them informed, we can build a foundation of mutual respect and cooperation. - Lowering Crime and Improving Public Safety: Ensuring the safety and security of all residents is a critical priority. I am committed to implementing effective crime prevention strategies, increasing patrol presence, and utilizing data-driven approaches to identify and address crime hotspots. Additionally, I will work on increasing staffing levels to ensure we have enough deputies to meet the community’s needs. By collaborating with community organizations, local businesses, and government partners, we can develop comprehensive solutions to reduce crime and enhance public safety.
- Tackling Mental Health, Addiction, and Homelessness: Mental health issues, addiction, and homelessness are interconnected challenges that significantly impact public safety and community well-being. I will prioritize expanding support within our law enforcement practices for individuals facing these issues. This includes increasing training for deputies on handling mental health crises and homelessness, improving access to resources for those struggling with addiction, and partnering with healthcare providers, mental health organizations, and housing services to provide holistic support. By addressing these root causes, we can reduce the strain on law enforcement and improve outcomes for individuals and families
I am proudly endorsed by leaders from across the political spectrum as well as community leaders like former Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor.
