Patti Kitching
Patti S. Kitching is a former justice on the Second District Court of Appeals, Division Three in California. She was appointed to the court by former Republican Governor Pete Wilson in December 1992 and assumed office in January 1993. Kitching was retained by voters in 2006 and 2007. In May 2015, Kitching announced her retirement from the bench, effective in September 2015.[1]
Education
Kitching graduated from UCLA in 1963 and went on to receive her J.D. from the Loyola Law School in 1974. She received her LL.M. in judicial process from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2004.[2][3]
Career
Kitching began her legal career serving as the deputy attorney general, a position which she held from 1975 to 1986. She worked at Bank of America for a few years and then was appointed to the Los Angeles Municipal Court by former Governor George Deukmejian in 1988. She was appointed to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 1990 where she served until her appointment to the Second District Court of Appeals.[2][3]
