Campaign themes

2016

Milne's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Better Leadership

One-party rule is NOT working for Oregon. Widespread corruption and unethical behavior in the state capitol are holding us back. Patti Milne will work to bring honesty, integrity and service back to Salem.

Great Schools

Oregon has the 4th worst graduation rate in the nation. As a former member of the Woodburn School Board, Patti Milne knows that our public schools have to do better. Patti will work to empower parents and teachers so they can be more involved in decision-making at the local level. In Salem, Patti will fight to make sure our public resources go where they are needed most — the classroom.

Responsible Budgets

Oregon has the 10th highest tax burden in the U.S. That hurts families and destroys jobs. Patti Milne will work to reduce the tax burden on working families, rein in out-of-control state spending, and ensure that the state government is using our tax dollars efficiently and effectively.

Quality Jobs

Out-of-control taxes and unpredictable government regulations are killing small businesses and driving away jobs. A small business owner, Patti Milne will help Oregon businesses grow and create more jobs by cutting burdensome taxes and eliminating needless regulations.

Affordable Healthcare

Patti Milne will work to provide patients more price transparency so they can see exactly how much their care costs. Patti Milne will also fight to give patients more control over their healthcare choices.[2]
