Paul Anthony Vortmann
Paul Anthony Vortmann was a judge for the Superior Court of Tulare County in Tulare County, California. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Pete Wilson in 1998 to a term commencing on January 1, 1999. Vortmann was re-elected in 2012 and his current term was set to expire in 2019. However, Vortmann retired early from the bench in July 2014.[1][2] On August 31, 2014, Vortmann passed away after a ten-month long battle with cancer.[3]
Education
Vortmann received his undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University in 1966 and his J.D. degree from Golden Gate University in 1969.[2]

2012 election

Vortmann ran for re-election to the Superior Court of Tulare County in 2012. As an unopposed incumbent, his name did not appear on the ballot. After the primary election, he was automatically re-elected.[4]
