Campaign themes

2014

Jackson's campaign website listed his themes for 2014:

My vision for the next chapter of Allen schools is a simple one. We must continue down the road of success that former trustees have built for the students. I want to propose some specific but simple plans that will continue the reputation of excellence that Allen enjoys.

The Vision

  • Our students must leave high school with the skill sets needed to achieve a college degree.
  • The needs of the individual learner must be met. Classrooms must be flexible and conducive to this goal.
  • I believe that online credits should be available to students.
  • College dual credits, work experience plans, and career path exploration programs develop a graduate that is engaged and has a clear path to personal success.
  • Allow opportunities for all students to take leadership roles. This instills maturity into the well rounded graduate.
  • Allow students who have fallen behind to catch up. Give these students an opportunity to recover lost credits or expedite learning.
  • Technology is moving faster than most classrooms can keep up. Every opportunity to put more technology in classrooms must be taken.
