- While Veterans Affairs typically falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Veterans Affairs and Congress, state legislatures can play a role in advocating for improved services for veterans. It's unfair that some veterans have to travel long distances for short visits at VA Hospitals. We should work to bring satellite clinics and telehealth options to our region, making healthcare more accessible for those who served our country.
- Small towns are struggling. For many, they are barely managing to fund basic needs. Infrastructure and capital improvements are all too often not even considered. Supporting small towns with infrastructure improvements is crucial for their growth and the well-being of their residents. I feel Olympia needs to consider ways to help such as infrastructure grants, technical assistance, public-private partnerships and tax incentives.
- Our schools strive to provide the best education with the resources available, but more support is needed to ensure our children thrive. Unfortunately, many schools have had to reduce or eliminate arts, music, and vocational programs, and they struggle to accommodate growing student populations due to limited funds for infrastructure. Investing in our schools is an investment in the future leaders of our nation. Olympia has the opportunity to lead the way in creating exceptional educational experiences for all students, and I am determined to work for positive change.
