Paul DiGaetano was a 2017 Republican candidate for District 40 of the New Jersey State Senate.

DiGaetano served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1986 to 1987 and again from 1992 to 2005. While in office, he served as Assembly majority leader and Assembly minority leader.[1]

Biography

DiGaetano earned his B.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He previously served on the Passaic City Council before he was elected to the Assembly. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve after graduating from Notre Dame's ROTC program.[1]

General election

Elections for the New Jersey State Senate took place in 2017. All 40 seats were up for election. The general election took place on November 7, 2017. A primary election took place on June 6, 2017. The filing deadline for the primary election was April 3, 2017.[2][3] Incumbent Kristin Corrado (R) defeated Thomas Duch (D) in the New Jersey State Senate District 40 general election.[4][5]
