Three of the five seats on the Murrieta Valley Unified School District Board of Education were supposed to be up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. Due to lack of opposition, however, the election was canceled. Incumbents Kenneth Dickson, Paul Diffley, and Barbara Muir were the only candidates to file for the race. Because of this, they were re-elected by default.[1]
