Paul Farrell appointed to vacancy on Cabell County Circuit Court

Huntington, West Virginia: Gov. Tomblin appointed attorney Paul Farrell, Sr. to fill the vacancy left by retired Judge Dan P. O'Hanlon on the Cabell County Circuit Court. Farrell is a founding member of the law firm of Farrell, Farrell & Farrell, PLLC, from which he will resign before joining the circuit court. "I've worked hard for 34 years to be a good lawyer and will work hard as a judge to serve the people.," he said. His term will expire on December 31, 2012, after which he may run for election to the remaining four years of the term.
As a lawyer, Farrell specializes in the defense of medical and hospital cases, healthcare advisory services, federal criminal matters and product liability defense. During his legal career, he has worked as an West Virginia Assistant Attorney General, a bank trust officer, adjunct professor at Marshall University, counsel in the state Senate, administrative law judge, hearing examiner, Assistant Cabell County Prosecuting Attorney, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia and private practice lawyer.[1]
