Public service is not something to be entered in to lightly. As a business owner of a tax preparation and accounting business, St Paul Tax Services, I have a public office where I work and meet my customers. When I go home to my wife and family, currently at five children, I want my privacy. Public service is like opening the door to your home and telling your family they won't be alone for dinner for the foreseeable future. These times call for citizens to step forward and serve those around them.
As your state senator, I promise to protect those I represent from the over-reach of state government and those who seek to minimize your freedoms. It is important that each of us in our daily lives show respect for the beliefs and thoughts of others. The three main issues in our society which require interaction of the state government is public safety, simpler taxes and fewer regulations.
Honesty, Integrity, the willingness to listen to the discussion, rather use current positions as a reason to talk over other people.
Viewing elected office as public service, not a career to be held onto cycle after cycle. A servant of the people who know the voter is right, not what the lobbyist sells.
A public servant who was successful in allowing the residents of the state to live a simpler and more fulfilled life, free from the control of government.
St Paul Pioneer Press Dispatch newspaper carrier, three years.
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities. Although fiction, it tell how two cultures dealt with the issues of their time.
No, we need many people from various careers and educational backgrounds to have a fully informed legislative process.
Reducing the cost drivers of government. Reducing the rate of growth year over year. Ending laws we no longer need, reducing the regulatory and tax burdens of the citizens.
A fair process measuring the census data where people live. State law provides a clear logic for drawing district lines. A properly programed software could draw the basic map, and yes adjustments would have to made by people so the lines make sense.
