Primary: He was defeated in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 5.6 percent of the vote. He competed against Jesus E. Morales, Jaime Munoz, Hortencia Martinez, Juan Vasquez, Pete Garcia, Eloy Trevino, and Elvia Rios.
