Paul Maughan
Paul Maughan was a judge for the Third Judicial District in Salt Lake County, Utah.[1] He was first appointed to the court in December 1998 by Governor Michael O. Leavitt (R), and he retired from the bench on December 1, 2016.[2][3]
Biography
Maughan received his J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law in 1974. Prior to taking the bench, Maughan worked as an associate at the firm of Bradley, Arrowsmith & Jackson and as assistant city attorney for Salt Lake City. He then worked as deputy district attorney for Salt Lake County, assigned to the civil division.[2]

2014
Maughan was retained to the Third District with 73.1 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [4]
Performance evaluations
The Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission, following a 2014 survey, recommended that Judge Maughan be Retained. The full report is available here.
2008
Maughan was retained to the district court in November 2008.[5]
