Paul Reville
Paul Reville was the Massachusetts Secretary of Education from 2008 to 2013. He was appointed to this position by Gov. Deval Patrick (D) on March 11, 2008.[1]
Biography
Reville has been involved with education throughout his life. He served as a teacher and principal for two alternative secondary schools. In 1985, he was the founding executive director of the Alliance for Education in Worcester and Central Massachusetts. He has served on the boards of numerous other education organizations. Also, serving as the founding executive director of the Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education. Between 1996 and 2002, he was the chair of both the Massachusetts Commission on Time and Learning and the Massachusetts Education Reform Review Commission.[2]

Political career
Secretary of Education (2008 - 2013)
Reville served as Massachusetts Secretary of Education from July 2008 to January 2013.[3] During his tenure, Reville supported a STEM approach to education, stating that it would "prepare young people for careers and college success in the future."[4]

Reville was appointed Massachusetts Secretary of Education by Gov. Deval Patrick on March 11, 2008. He was officially sworn in on July 1, 2008.[5]
