Paul Simard
Paul Simard was a 2017 Republican special election candidate for District Grafton 9 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
Simard is a former Republican member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Grafton 8 from 2010 to 2012.

A special election for the position of New Hampshire House of Representatives District Grafton 9 was called for September 5, 2017. A primary election was set July 18, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 26, 2017.[1]
The seat became vacant on February 22, 2017, when Jeff Shackett (R) resigned from the state House.[2]
Write-in candidate Joshua Adjutant defeated Tom Ploszaj in the Democratic primary. Vincent Migliore defeated Paul Simard and Timothy Sweetsir in the special Republican primary. Burton Williams (R) was removed from the ballot on June 30, 2017.[1] Migliore defeated Adjutant and Libertarian John J. Babiarz in the special election.[1][3][4]

Simard ran for re-election in the 2012 election for New Hampshire House of Representatives, Grafton 17. Simard was unopposed in the September 11 Republican primary election and was defeated by Catherine Mulholland (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6]
