Ballotpedia survey responses

Stoddard stated the following about his political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia:[1]

I am running to battle the corruption of our political system by powerful, well-heeled interests. I will work to end political gerrymandering, for local funding of campaigns, and a revision of campaign rules to ensure that voters have real choice at the ballot box. All these changes are designed to make elected officials more responsive to their constituents.

In addition, I will support reinvesting in our state to maintain and expand our infrastructure. Roads, bridges, power lines, and broadband access are essential not only for individual residents, but also to create a strong business-friendly environment. And even more important is to invest in people - especially in education at all levels: pre-school, K-12, and higher ed. A well-educated, thriving populace will be the largest enticement to bringing well-paying jobs to Illinois, and to drive our economy.[2]
