Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Weaver's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Constitution: It took our Founding Fathers four months to write the United States Constitution! It has been been tried, tested and legally amended 27 times since 1787. No treaty with the United Nations, Executive Order or any other means should ever trump the United States Constitution.
  • Gun Control: Amendment II to the Constitution: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed". Pretty simple. The Militia is you and me! It has nothing to do with hunting, it has everything to do with security! Gun control implies exactly what it says — control! The White House and Progressive Liberals in Congress do not have the guts to hold a Constitutional Convention and let the citizens of each state vote. They know it would never pass!
  • Affordable Care Act: The Affordable Care Act is a lot of things, one thing it is NOT is AFFORDABLE! Both senators have solidly backed this law from the start…puppy dogging Obama and senate democrats 100%. It contains 2,700 unread pages forced through Congress without any real debate, plus who knows how many pages of regulations written by unelected bureaucrats! We keep hearing horror stories about canceled policies, medical device taxes, increased premiums, increased deductibles, higher co-pays and medicines not covered! Costs are going up and up and exchanges are going out of business. Obamacare will ruin the greatest healthcare system in the world.
  • National Debt: Several years have passed since the Senate has produced a budget. They keep using "base line budgeting" which is nothing more than taking what was spent last year and adding a percent of increase to it. This is very bad business practice! The Congress is not doing their job - they are shirking their fiduciary responsibility to the Citizens of our country by consistently increasing the debt limit!
  • Jobs And Economy: The rich do not need more tax - the poor need more private sector jobs!

Profit through capitalism is the engine that drives a thriving economy. The more profit, the more invested in plant and equipment, the more jobs. The more private sector jobs, the more money we have to spend and the cycle goes on and on. [4]
