Paul Winfree is the director of the Heritage Foundation’s Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies. Winfree was a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team, a group of advisors tasked with recommending presidential appointments for the incoming administration.[2]
Career
Winfree earned a B.S. in economics from George Mason University and an M.S. in economics and economic history from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). As of November 2016, Winfree is a doctoral candidate at LSE.[1]
Winfree worked as a senior policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis. He left the foundation to serve as the director of income security for the United States Senate Committee on Budget. Winfree returned to the Heritage Foundation in 2015 as the director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies.[2][1]
Donald Trump presidential transition team, 2016-2017
Winfree was a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team in his first presidential term. The transition team was a group of around 100 aides, policy experts, government affairs officials, and former government officials who were tasked with vetting, interviewing, and recommending individuals for top cabinet and staff roles in Trump's administration. Winfree was an advisor on the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for the transition team alongside Linda Springer.[2][3]
