Recall reports

An effort to recall administrator Paulette Hamilton in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, from her position was launched in June 2015.[1] The recall did not go to a vote because supporters failed to collect enough signatures against Hamilton.[2]

Recall supporters

  • Support of a regional charter school in town
  • Allegedly working on the charter school during town time funded by citizens
  • "Unbridled chaos in the [North Smithfield] Tax Assessor’s office"
  • Lack of leadership in handling bond issues
  • Alleged bullying tactics
  • Hiring a building and zoning official who did not hold proper certification for the post
  • Firing the town finance director via text message
  • Signing a contract with the town's police department without council approval
  • "[Mismanagement] of the Town in her own incompetent fashion"
  • A "legacy of deceit and incompetence"
