An effort in Tallulah, Louisiana, to recall Mayor Paxton Branch was launched in August 2018. Petitioners began gathering signatures on August 13, 2018.[1] The recall effort ended when Branch died on September 1, 2018, following a medical procedure.[2]

Recall organizers said they initiated the recall effort over concerns of government transparency and the safety of drinking water.[1]
