My name is Pedro Espinoza and I want to be your next Colorado State Senator for District 28 for this coming 2024 election. I am an Iraq war Veteran, a current Law Enforcement Officer, and a father. I want to do my part in making Colorado a place where it was once known as, skiing, fishing, hunting, and local breweries. Drugs are flooding our streets and criminals are not being held accountable. All this and the current house want to limit our right to bear arms to law-abiding citizens when the state is out of control and can not even help itself.
  • CRIME There is no hiding that Colorado is not a safe place to live anymore. Today (10/24/2023), Fox 31 News reported that out of the 50 states, Colorado ranked toward the bottom at No. 43 in regard to safety. We also ranked No. 1 last year for Motor Vehicle Thefts in the nation. People are dying at an alarming rate due to drugs. We must control our borders and save our streets. It seems like every day we hear about or see shootings on television and then just carry on with our day. We fail to react and ignore the warnings and crises until we become victims ourselves and then demand accountability. Lets focus on the rights to defend our selves and place law biding citizens first.
  • IMMIGRATION AND SECURITY We have more than a million immigrants now who have lived behind the shadows for many years to provide for their families. They work hard night and day and contribute as much as they can to society. I myself am a product of growth, I grew up knowing that in this country you have to work hard to get what you want in life and there are no boundaries that you can't cross. I served my country in Iraq and call this land my home. Having an open boarder is not the answer. We need migrants that contribute, not just depend on assistance. This is not the American way. There needs to be order and accountability. I believe that this has a link to the crime that has sky rocket over the past year.
  • Parents Rights to Parenting. (Currently in Colorado - A child can receive Gender Affirming Care without a parents consent or knowledge) I personally believe that if my child has an issue about their feelings or body, I as a parent would want to be the first person to know and assist my child to understand change in their body is a natural process called puberty. This is something as parent, is our obligation and orders given from god to address of our natural order of parenting. No child that is not of legal age to vote, drive a car, get a tattoo, still believe in Santa Clause, have the capacity to really understand the changes in their body to make these life altering decisions and especially with out their parent. Let kids be kids!
I am very passionate about about Parents being involved in their children's health and learning. Supporting our Veterans and putting the homeless not just in housing but back to work. There are many programs available for people going through poverty and in need of assistance. I also what to assist people that sometimes need a little extra help at times. Lets not just focus on poverty alone, let us assist people before they reach that level. Sometimes people just need a little push now and days, especially with the cost of living going up.
Nothing comes to mind but when I think about this, I only think about being all I can be to be the best role module for my children.
To serve the people you are elected to serve.
What outrages me most is when you only hear or see a politician when it is time for election. I personally didn't understand the duties of the state legislators until I became passionate on making a change and how can I make a difference. That is why reaching out to voters all year is very important. I will be transport and make sure every vote I make, I have a reason for doing it. Every action I take reflects greatly on the the people I represent and I want to be that leader that speaks out for what is right.
Leadership. Patriotism.
When I believe something is unjust, I fight hard for it. Even if I'm at risk of losing it all.
To serve the people that elected them and stand up for what is right.
I would like to leave behind that I was a person of Strength, Patriotism and Understanding. Strength in order to be tough on issues I vison. Patriotisms, putting the needs of Americans first and Understanding the needs of my community and approach things with a common solution.
I actually worked two jobs. When my oldest son was born, I worked at Popeyes in the morning and Family Dollar in the evening.
Batman. Be fearless to fight for what is right but to understand that I am only human and can only do so much.
Listen to others point of view and understanding the reasoning for it.
Keeping Colorado affordable. The more the Government is involved in your life, the more taxes you pay.
It is good to be familiar with the process but also good to have fresh and unbias new leaders.
Yes.
We all work for the great people of this state and is my job to find a common ground and vote for what is best for the future of our children.
As long as there is a need for a leader or if we a tipping away from the principles on how this country was founded. I will always be willing to step up and serve my country again.
Me being Hispanic. I hear cries from people that have lived hear for many years that feel left out by the influx of migrants crossing the boarder now with paid rooms and benefits. I personally am effected emotionally, due to the fact that I myself live paycheck to paycheck and feel that our government does not understand that we as residents sometime have to choose from paying medical bills to keeping the lights on in our homes. That is why I am a big proponent of assisting the middle/lower class when times get rough, not just waiting until they are on the streets.
Yes.
I believe what Governor Polis and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has done to this state by welcoming millions Migrants has caused great pain to this state. We have wasted millions of dollars to assist the failure of our current Presidents bad boarder policies. In witch they have turned a blind eye to the people they represent in Colorado. If the President is uncapable of securing our country, if our Governor is uncapable of securing our state, then the people of Colorado must take action on securing our future.
What I am very passionate about is keeping males out of female sports and putting the Parent in front of the Government in regards to children.
People need to know were the money is going. This is great for understanding the need to add or remove administrations/programs that are not working in our best interest.
