Peggy A. Leen was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Nevada from 2001 to 2019. She was appointed to this position on January 16, 2001.[1] Leen retired on April 30, 2019.[2]

Education

Judge Leen earned a degree in political science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1976 and a J.D. degree from the University of San Diego Law School in 1979. During law school, she practiced as an intern with the Clark County Public Defender’s Office.[1]

Career

Judge Leen began her career as a deputy public defender. She later joined the law firm Thorndal, Backus, Maupin & Armstrong, where she became a partner in 1983. In 1995, she joined the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. She was then appointed magistrate judge in 2001.[1]
