Peggy D. Richardson is a circuit judge for the 26th Circuit Court in Missouri. She was appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon on November 9, 2016, to fill the new circuit judge position created by Senate Bill 578. The bill, which was signed into law in 2016, created the new position to address the heavy caseload in the district.[1]

Richardson previously served as an associate judge for the 26th Circuit and as a municipal court judge for the municipalities of Clarksburg, Jamestown, and Tipton in Moniteau County, Missouri.[2] She was elected to the position of associate judge in 1998 and re-elected in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014.[1][3][4]

Primary: She ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 5, 2014.
General: She was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014. [4] 

Education

Richardson received her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Missouri and her J.D. from the University of Missouri, Columbia.[3]

Career

Before her judicial career, Richardson worked as an attorney in private practice from 1983 to 1998. She also previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Morgan County.[3]
